Replacing the skills of the ball with the mind, and the only competition is with who you were yesterday.

Youth To Society Sports

Training For the Future

Traditional sports train the physical skills of the game. At Y2S Sports, we train the other half: the skills that matter both on and off the field. Through the life lessons of sports and a team-based community service project, we give kids a real-world platform to practice resilience, teamwork, and other life skills to succeed in sports, school, and everyday life.

How We're Different

With youth sports more competitive than ever, kids already have the training to build athletic skills. What they’re missing are the mindset and life skills that set them apart, not just in sports, but in life. At Y2S Sports, we take the pressure off, replace the skills of the ball with the skills of the mind, and give kids a chance to compete with who they were yesterday.

Pressure-Free Outlet

Without coaches stepping in to correct technique or worrying about their performance, kids get to play for fun while still learning from the game.

Skills that Transfer

We build resilience, communication, confidence, and inner life skills, the same way traditional sports train footwork, speed, and skills of the ball.

Purpose Beyond Sports

Through a team-based community service project, kids practice teamwork and leadership, and make a real impact off the field.

We Don't Need To Change the game; we need to add to it

Not just for sports, but for life

Kids today are growing up in a different world. With more pressure in school, constant comparison on social media, and the demands of daily life, kids are dealing with more than they can handle.

Sports used to be the outlet, but with travel teams starting as young as five, kids are training harder than ever and pressured to specialize at a younger age; if not, they risk falling behind.

Athletic performance gets all the attention. But with kids having access to more advanced training than previous generations, talent and athletic skills alone won’t be what sets athletes apart.

In life, without balance and the right tools —resilience, confidence, leadership, and self-awareness —pressure can become the very thing that holds them back.

We created Y2S Sports because the same skills that will separate good athletes from great ones are the skills every kid needs to be successful in sports, school, and life.

How It Works

Designed For Busy Families

We give kids the best of both worlds: the chance to play sports in a fun, pressure-free environment, while also building the skills that matter on and off the field.

Similar to organized sports, we run 12-14 week seasons in the fall, winter, and spring. Kids are placed on a team of 12-14 players based on their current grade and school/neighborhood.

1. Register For a Season

Once you click Register Now, you will be directed to Playmetrics, which is the software we use for registration and all team communication.

2. Practice Once a Week

Teams practice once a week, but instead of focusing on sports technique, we use sports as a tool to build the skills that transfer beyond sports.

3. Team-Based Service Project

Instead of weekend games, kids practice teamwork and leadership skills off the field through a team-based community service project at the end of each season.

Character Development

There’s a common belief that kids automatically learn character, teamwork, and resilience just by playing sports, but that’s not the case.

For those lessons to translate into everyday life, coaches have to take the time to teach these skills and discuss how they apply to other areas of life. At Y2S Sports, we utilize the sports environment to translate the life lessons from sports into everyday life.

Fun & Pressure-Free

With the increase in sports specialization, more children are dropping out of sports by the age of 13 due to stress, pressure, and burnout. Our goal is to change this trend by providing a fun, non-competitive environment where kids can play for the same reason they started in the first place: to have fun.

Community Over Competition

Instead of measuring success through winning games and scoring points, teams work together toward a shared purpose, measuring success through the impact they make. By alleviating individual pressure to perform for personal gain, players learn the true meaning of teamwork and collaboration, while building a sense of purpose that extends beyond themselves.

Social Skills Through Accountability

Research shows that adolescents rely on their peers more than adults when they encounter challenges, which is why we intentionally incorporate accountability buddies—teammates paired together to practice and learn how to be good friends and supportive teammates.

Coaches. Role Models. Mentors.

Our coaches are local high school seniors who act as peer mentors and role models for each player on their team. They are trained in our curriculum to take on leadership roles. Having someone relatable and closer in age makes their advice more trustworthy, making kids more receptive.

As Denzel Washington said, “Show me a successful individual, and I’ll show you someone who had real positive influences in his or her life. I’m sure someone was cheering you on or showing you the way-a mentor.”

Selection Process

We partner with local high schools to identify senior athletes with the heart and character to mentor younger kids.

Training

Coaches are trained in our curriculum, mission, and values before each season.

Weekly Practices

Coaches lead practices that combine sports, life-skills lessons, and planning for the season’s community project.

Role Models and Mentors

Our coaches bring similar energy and relatability to our players, our coaches connect with players in a way adults often can’t.
