Why Y2S Sports Exists?

Sports today are more competitive than ever, and it’s creating challenges for every type of kid.

For competitive athletes, natural talent and athletic skills aren’t going to be enough. To stand out, kids are going to need a strong mental game: emotional control, resilience, and strong communication skills.

For the kids who love sports but don’t play at the travel or elite level, the pressure to perform still exists. Even at the rec level, the focus has shifted to performance-based training, making it harder to play for fun, take risks, and build character.

And for most kids, this means they are left without a stress-free outlet, free from the increasing demands of school, life, and now sports, which is why we created Y2S Sports.

Benefits of Y2S Sports

We’re not here to change the game; we add to it and bring back what’s missing and give kids the best of both worlds: a pressure-free outlet to play sports for fun while building the mindset and life skills needed to stand out in sports, school, and life.

Improve As An athlete

For competitive athletes, we focus on the mental game. Kids learn how to handle pressure, bounce back from setbacks, and practice sportsmanship and teamwork, which are the skills that make them stronger athletes, teammates, and leaders.

Fun & Pressure-Free Outlet

Most programs measure success based on performance. At Y2S, the only thing we measure is helping players become better than they were yesterday through a pressure-free outlet every kid needs and deserves.

Improve as a Person

The same skills that will help kids become better in sports are the same skills that will help them in school, relationships, and the future. By using the real-world platform of sports and community service, kids have an opportunity to practice applying these skills on and off the field and compete with who they were yesterday.

Peer Mentorship

Our coaches are high school senior athletes who provide players with relatable peer mentors and role models.

Each season, teams participate in a community service project. They lead the project, practicing teamwork and leadership skills while making a real-world impact. This builds empathy and altruism, providing a sense of purpose beyond themselves.

Stronger Mental Health

Our program is intentionally designed to help kids build the tools they need to manage stress, stay grounded, and develop a strong sense of self, which are the skills that build the foundation for positive mental health skills and become habits in the future.
