Our FAQ

What does Y2S Stand For?

Y2S stands for Youth To Society.

Y2S Sports is a new kind of youth league that uses sports as a tool to build confidence, leadership, resilience, and teamwork. Instead of focusing on performance, we create a fun, pressure-free environment where kids build the skills to become better as athletes and people.

Where do practices take place?

We use a variety of local community spaces, such as school gyms, church halls, community centers, and blacktops for our weekly practices. Locations will be announced before each season.

What does a typical practice look like?

Each practice includes:

  • Fun warm-ups and pickup-style play
  • Life-skills lessons built into drills and activities
  • Team-building challenges led by peer coaches
  • Planning the community service project

What skills will my child gain?

Kids will develop:

  • Confidence and resilience
  • Leadership and teamwork
  • Communication and social skills
  • Sportsmanship and empathy
  • A sense of purpose and responsibility

Are there weekend games?

No. Instead of games, every season ends with a team-based Legacy Project: a community service initiative where kids put teamwork and leadership into practice.

What is a Legacy Project?

A Legacy Project is a community service activity that each team completes by the end of the season. Examples include supporting a local shelter, organizing a donation drive, or volunteering at a community event. These projects allow kids to apply teamwork and leadership skills in the real world while leaving a positive impact.

What ages can join?

Our program is open to boys and girls in grades K–10. Teams are organized by grade, so practices and lessons are age-appropriate.

Who are the coaches?

Our coaches are trained high school seniors who serve as role models and mentors for younger players. Because they’re closer in age, kids relate to them more easily and are often more receptive to their advice. Coaches receive training in the Y2S curriculum before each season.

Why should I sign my child up?

Because Y2S is more than a league. It’s a place where kids grow in character, develop social-emotional skills, and experience the joy of giving back. By enrolling, you’re not just signing your child up for another activity — you’re investing in their future.
