Y2S Sports

Replacing the skills of the ball with the mind, and the only competition is with who you were yesterday.

Freshmen and Sophomores

Teenagers are at a crucial stage as they build their identity as they navigate more independence, responsibility, and peer influence. As sports become more competitive, what sets athletes apart is their ability to remain composed, lead under pressure, and carry themselves with confidence. Sports and community service develop the inner skills that help them stand out both on and off the field.

Skills we build:

  • Emotional intelligence: Aligning emotions with goals, staying composed under pressure, and making choices based on values.
  • Resilience: Learning to analyze setbacks, focus on what’s controllable, and turn challenges into opportunities to grow.
  • Teamwork: Developing communication and asking for feedback to improve the team
  • Leadership: Moving beyond peer influence and learning how to step into a leadership role
  • Conflict resolution: Handling tough conversations (playing time, roles, or team standards) with maturity and respect.
  • Confidence: Building an identity beyond performance
