Grades 6-8
Middle school brings increased pressure. School gets tougher, sports are more competitive, and social pressures rise. To be successful, middle schoolers need more than just talent alone. Learning to handle pressure, making better decisions, and learning how to be a leader are the qualities that will help them stand out on and off the field.
What kids build at Y2S:
- Emotional intelligence: Staying composed under stress by recognizing emotions and using mental tools to reset.
- Resilience: Turning mistakes into “next-play” opportunities and performing with focus under pressure.
- Teamwork: Strengthening communication and trust so they can excel in roles that require interdependence.
- Leadership: Learning to influence peers, mentor younger players, and lead through actions, not just words.
- Conflict resolution: Handling disagreements with maturity, keeping the team moving forward.
- Confidence: Developing preparation routines and self-talk strategies that boost consistency and performance.
